Porta by Normann Copenhagen
The Challenge
Normann Copenhagen’s new Porta lamp needed a story that went beyond product features. The task was to capture its Nordic minimalist design, cordless portability, and three levels of light intensity, while positioning it as a versatile object that adapts seamlessly to any environment. The challenge was to reveal not just what the lamp is, but what it represents: freedom, flexibility, and modern design intelligence.
Creative Approach
I developed a narrative that turned these product qualities into a cinematic journey. In a futuristic industrial space, the lamps are tethered by charging cables — until they break free, float into the air, and gradually illuminate across three intensities. This symbolic act of liberation highlights their cordless portability and adaptability. Finally, each lamp settles into a distinct environment, underscoring the range of colors and contexts in which the Porta feels at home. The film elevates the lamp from object to story — an expression of design set free.
