Købstædernes Forsikring – Time Travel Campaign
The Challenge
As Denmark’s oldest insurance company, Købstædernes Forsikring wanted to highlight their long heritage through a new campaign series built around time travel stories. For the outdoor execution, the task was to design a bus wrap that would catch attention on the streets of Copenhagen—something visually striking enough to stand out amid the city’s dense flow of cyclists and pedestrians.
Creative Approach
The concept played with a classic Copenhagen challenge: stepping off the bus without colliding with a bicycle. To dramatize this, I created a photorealistic illustration featuring a retro one-wheel bicycle rider from the past, distracted and looking toward the audience instead of the road. As the bus doors open, passengers dressed in ball gowns and royal attire step out, surprised to find themselves facing the old-time cyclist.
The execution combined AI image generation and 3D elements:
MidJourney + ComfyUI were used with style and character references to generate richly detailed, historically accurate figures.
Extensive costume research informed the visual authenticity of the period clothing.
A 3D model of the bicycle was created to ensure correct proportions and placement within the composition.
Final compositing in Photoshop aligned lighting, scale, and atmosphere, achieving an integrated, hyper-realistic result.
The outcome was a bus design that felt both playful and cinematic, blending history with modern-day Copenhagen and perfectly embodying Købstædernes Forsikring’s identity as a brand with deep roots and enduring relevance.
