Box — Digital Art Installation

A digital installation created in collaboration with Lynfabrikken for Box, a floor-to-ceiling public screen space in Aarhus visible directly from the street.

The project explored the idea of a synthetic ecosystem unfolding within an enclosed digital environment. A series of evolving hybrid entities — balancing organic movement with mechanical surface structures — were developed as part of a continuous transformation system where forms, textures, and behaviors shift fluidly between states.

Rather than treating the screen as a flat display surface, the installation approached the Box space itself as part of the artwork. A digital reconstruction of the physical gallery environment was integrated into the piece, creating the impression of an internal laboratory or contained artificial habitat visible from the outside public space.

The work focused on atmosphere, spatial depth, and slow transformational motion, using light, material contrast, and procedural transitions to create an ambiguous tension between natural and synthetic life.
